To me he has been a major underachiever and seems to have a lackadaisical style, kind of laid back, and that obviously seems to be clashing with the new coaches. I can understand a laidback personality but not poor work ethic.
Many boards have been discussing these issues.
Does any one here think it is good for the pro-type atmosphere created by Gailey to be destroyed?
I think so. Too often accountability under Gailey was the "Mistakes were made" variety, not the "I messed up" kind. Effort sometimes seemed poor, particularly on offense. For example, two years ago we beat UNC 7-0 in a game that seemed like nobody except for Choice and the defense wanted to play.
With this new, bust-your-ass approach, maybe we will see some ass busting.
